Our Story


It’s funny how life works sometimes. Joey and I first crossed paths seven years ago, at a club where I went out with some friends. I thought he was cute, but for whatever reason, I didn’t take that chance to really talk to him. I was hanging out with his sister and another friend, dancing and enjoying the night, but Joey and I never really connected.

Fast forward a few months later, and there he was again—this time at my friend’s birthday party. We both made sure to take the opportunity to talk. Joey, being the smooth talker he is, even used me as his “pretend girlfriend” when another girl tried to dance with him. He casually sat next to me, introduced himself with that warm, charming smile of his, and made me laugh. I didn’t mind at all—honestly, I thought it was adorable.

Turns out, his sister had mentioned to him that I thought he was cute when we first met, and that was the start of a special introduction. Eventually, thanks to a very close friend of mine, we exchanged numbers, and the rest, as they say, is history. The more we hung out, the more we realized how much we had in common. I was already close with his sister and cousin, so it felt like we were bound to run into each other time and time again.

Looking back, it’s clear that the connection between us was inevitable. We may have taken the long road, but we always knew we’d get to this point. Over the years, we’ve been through so much—ups and downs, challenges, and triumphs. We’ve had our share of moments where we had to find ourselves separately, only to return stronger and more committed to one another. We’ve lost together, but we’ve also grown together. We’ve lost loved ones and gained new ones, and through it all, we’ve been by each other’s side.

I truly believe that God has someone for everyone, and that we found each other in the most unexpected way. The journey we’ve shared has been nothing short of incredible, and now, as we prepare for the next chapter of our lives, we’re so thankful to have found love in each other.

We’re so excited to celebrate our love with all of you this August. Your presence means the world to us, and we can’t wait to share this special day together.

As we celebrate this beautiful chapter in our lives, we are filled with gratitude for the angels who are watching over us from above. Joey’s mom, Anna Ruiz, was a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering faith. Her deep love for her family and her connection with God shaped Joey into the incredible person he is today. Her kindness, joy, and compassion continue to inspire us, and we feel her spirit guiding us every day.

I am equally blessed to have the most cherished memories of my grandparents. My grandfather, William Lamboy, a retired veteran, taught me the true meaning of dedication and service. He went above and beyond for my brother and me, and it’s from him that my love for animals was born—his compassion for all living things left an unforgettable mark on my heart. My grandparents, Sucre Rosado and Blanca Rosado, were pillars of love and wisdom. Their guidance, warmth, and strength shaped me in countless ways. I will forever hold the lessons they taught me close to my heart.

Though we can no longer hold them in our arms, their love and influence are with us every day. We are grateful for their lasting impact on our lives and feel their presence as we take this next step together.
